Forever Without You

Julie Dunlap

I called him up this morning,
It's almost been a year,
And he asked me: "why did you this?"
And down came on my tears.

I said "I miss you and I need to see you."
He said "I'm so sorry, dear,
But I found my one and only love,
And she's right here."

I never should've called him,
But I swallowed my pride again,
I should have listened to what he said,
That we are only friends.

Someday I'll get over him,
And find me a man,
Who'd love me and adore me,
And take me as I am.

I'll be fine but so many times,
I think about you.
On my mind you are always there,
And it's hard to face the truth.

And I just just can't believe,
That you'll be married soon,
And I will be forever without you.

* * * * *

I have to say good bye now,
But I can't seem to let go,
You see the memories and a broken heart,
Are all I have to show...

But I'll keep pressing onward,
I'll pray for you and her,
And on your wedding day I'll cry,
Thinking back on how things were.

And I'll be fine but so many times,
I think about you.
On my mind you are always there,
And it's hard to face the truth.

And I just just can't believe,
That you'll be married soon,
And I will be forever without you.
And I will be forever without you.
