Apologia (1)
No pain is worse than for a soul to find
No sympathy from human kind
To feel that all it does is lost,
What e'er its pains, what e'er the cost
-- Colfax Burgoyne Harman. Human Sympathy.
For if you were by my unkindness shaken
As I by yours, y'have passed a hell of time,
And I a tyrant have no leisure taken
To weigh how once I suffered in your crime.
-- William Shakespeare. Sonnet #120.
