Protest (3)
Let Justice, blind and maimed and halt, chastise
The rebel-spirit surging in my veins;
Let the Law deal me penalties and pains;
Let me be outcast in my neighbours' eyes.
-- Ada Cambridge. Honour.
And must I be content to rest
And leave my brother sad,
Because to-morrow I may fail,
Through death, to make him glad?
-- Louisa Sarah Guggenberger Bevington. A Modern Moral.
